Lloyd Lee is a London based architectural photographer whose work observes the subtle conversations between building elements, their contextual conditions and the atmospheres that move through them.

He began photographing at thirteen after picking up his father’s camera, and the medium became a way for him to understand space and its temperaments. Educated at the University of Edinburgh and the Architectural Association, and qualified as an architect in the United Kingdom, he approaches photography with the insight of someone who has designed and inhabited architecture as well as recorded it.

Lloyd focuses on how architectural elements take on meaning through their context. His photographs carry a humane presence, shaped by the way built forms interact with their surroundings and traces of habitation. His attention to detail, mood and the relationship between elements gives his architectural work a gentle, unforced drama. His portraits share this sensibility, revealing something of the sitter through either spatial context or controlled light.

Lloyd has worked with numerous architects, universities and galleries, including MIT, UC Berkley, ETH Zurich, the Seoul Hall of Architecture and Urbanism, Gilles Retsin and Levent Ozruh. He has also worked with his clients during the Venice Biennale, Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, London Design Week and Milan Design Week to record their works. His work and collaborations have been exhibited and featured by the Venice Biennale 2025, ArchDaily, Designboom, Parametric Architecture, VoxelMatters, inredningsarkitektur, Trending Now Architecture, Kyobi News and other international design and technology outlets, as well as by RISD, ETH Zurich, MIT MAD, UC Berkeley, TU Eindhoven and the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR).
